We will start by asking you about your experience of your condition and a little about your medical history. It is important for us to know what you are hoping to get out of having physiotherapy so that we are sure we are targeting our treatment specifically for you.
We will then listen to your chest, observe how you breathe and take some observations (such as your pulse and oxygen levels).
After your assessment, we will trial some different treatment approaches to see what will fit your needs best.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is an exercise and education programme. Research shows it’s a brilliant way to enable you to do more without feeling breathless, feel more confident in managing your condition and reduce feelings of panic and anxiety. The NHS run several programmes around the area.
However, if you would like to have a one-to-one programme, or sessions in your own home, get in touch with Severn Physiotherapy. Our team is experienced in running pulmonary rehabilitation programmes, working with a wide range of abilities, helping people to achieve their potential and feel confident in managing their breathing condition.
