Recondition The Nation is a campaign introduced by Dr Amit Arora, a consultant geriatrician in the North Midlands. He promotes movement among our older generation so they can remain active, independent and mobile.

This not only improves outcomes and prevents falls, but also reduces long hospital stays and supports better mental health and wellbeing for older people.

Deconditioning syndrome can be defined as the 'condition of physiological change' that happens when someone becomes less active — muscles weaken quickly, balance is lost, and confidence drops. The good news is that with the right support, much of this can be turned around. That's exactly the work we do in people's own homes and in care homes every day.
